I fear that we are not getting the whole story on climate change.

Regardless of what is causing it things are changing so fast that I suspect that the reality is that this is the planets' way of getting rid of humans. How long do we have?

This reminds me of the lead debate, we first started putting lead in gasoline in the early 1920's and it's excellent anti knock properties help revolutionize the automotive industry. 25 years later the production of tetraethyllead in
the United States used over 100 000 metric tonnes of lead per year and ranked
among the top 10 industrial chemical enterprises in the country. The battle between the industry paid experts and those with environmental concerns started right away. The fight continued but you just can't fight big industry money and bought off politicians.

Nobody questions now that lead is bad and that leaded gasoline put lead in the atmosphere and gave rise to lead blood levels in people. That is why the whole world outlawed leaded gasoline. But once it was proven beyond any doubt it still took 20 years to change the policy.

Same thing has happened with climate change. Just like with lead there are some so called experts who go against main stream science saying it is just a hoax and fear mongering. I am old enough that I will be dead when some of the more serious consequences get here but I will see the beginnings. We are actually seeing some of it now.

The symptoms of climate change are global warming. The cause of climate change is too many people. Seven billion humans is at least two times too many!

@hunkalove even if we had wars, plague, famine, abortions, and abstinance the number of people will not decrease enough to affect a change. Plus there are other factors like solar output, volcanism, and a positive feedback loop that can't be changed.

Actually we are given the whole story people just don't read it or choose not to believe it. We are too shallow and it is not easily explained in a meme so we remain ignorant. It starts with understanding the carbon cycle but people don't bother do to that so they rest their belief on tweets and other ignorant people.

Yes it requires an explanation that requires thought. Also it requires us to admit our faults an sacrifice a little so future generations will enjoy the earth we had. @Subsumedpat

We are at the tipping point now. Unfortunately over the last couple of years, we are going backwards with our attempts to find renewable energy and reduce CO2 emissions thanks to the Trumps and in my province Doug Fords. Apart from industry, we have all decided that we all need trucks and SUVs instead of smaller cars. My premier has removed the tax incentive to buy electric cars. We are to selfish and short sited species to avoid this catastrophe.

@JimboSaturn that's just it. We're over the tipping point. At that "point" there is no longer anything we can easily do. The system has gone unstable. Some years back I was testing isolation systems with big granite surface plates. The pneumatic isolator I was testing had inadequate damping so I soon saw a 3 foot by six foot by one foot thick chucnk of rock leaping three feet in the air! I yanked the air line loose and the think immediagely settled down. Basically that is what we have to do.

Planet doesn't think of humans, it is busy being itself
You’re never told the whole story. You’re given a basic outline and you can persue more information if you desire.

I don’t think Mother Nature works like that.
Not as long as people are told, I am sure.
