Would a person who is lying say "have been telling you the truth," instead of "I have been telling you the truth."?

Which one of the sentences above would a liar use? All in all I'm just trying to see if I'm being lied to, and if liars avoid using the letter 'I,'

"Have been telling you the truth" could mean that anyone else besides him were telling the truth.. avoiding "I" is a way to obsolve him from any wrongdoing

@Tminus6453 Thank you. That's what I'm thinking also but I wasn't too sure if I'm psychoanalysing too much

It's not a universal thing. People have different tendencies when they lie. It depends on the individual. If you know the person, you'd be able to figure it out.

@SW-User they use 'I' all the time. That's why my radar went up this time around

I'd trust my instincts on that one. If you get the sense that something is off in the way they're talking, it probably is a lie. @Ladyofemotions

That's what I thought too. But the thing is I just need to figure out if I'm being lied to since they didn't use the letter 'I.' they use it other sentences when texting.....

Don鈥檛 read into it. I think whether they use I or not means nothing..

They are just being lazy leaving out I.
