Do you view feminism as a mean of superiority over men?

Probably not superior to men nor to any sexes but for ourselves as an equal to all human species..

Do women really want equality in all aspects?
99% of all bricklayers are men.
Should we ensure its a 50/50 split?
Should the same apply to the armed forces?
revenant · F
@Entwistle no they do not. Female and male psychologies are different. Physiology also.

@Entwistle No women out protesting. - "Mandatory military draft registration for women! When do we want it? Right now!"
Here's some examples of "male privilege"
80% of suicides are male
80% of homeless are male
92% of work deaths are male
98% of military combat deaths are male
15% of child custody winners are male
100% of those required to sign up for potential military conscription are male
40% of college students are male
Women get far lighter sentences for crimes than a man would get
Far more money is spent trying to cure women's diseases than men's
Women live several years longer than men

@graphite Earlier retirement age too.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@revenant Does that stop a woman being a bricklayer or joining the army?
graphite · 61-69, M
@Entwistle No, it doesn't stop it. FWIW, here's a very recent example of the female sentencing discount, involving the Theranos scammers - Sunny Balwani - 13 years, Elizabeth Holmes - 11 years. She was in charge but he gets more years?
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@graphite I have no idea who you are talking about.
graphite · 61-69, M
@Entwistle The Theranos collapse - they raised millions from investors to develop technology to take a full suite of blood tests from just a tiny sample of blood, instead of requiring extensive blood draws. But it never worked.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@graphite Ahh okay.

@Entwistle
Earlier retirement age too.
That is being equalized but some whiny women are complaining that it's unfair because, in order to equalize the ages, the increase in pension age for women is greater than the increase for men.
@Entwistle Equal does not mean identical. But you raise a good point. You should ask women in the building trades what it's like.
Sharon · F
@LeopoldBloom Members of the same sex are not identical to each other but, in general, they all have the same rights and responsibilities.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@LeopoldBloom There are hardly any women on building sites.
The couple I knew were very manly and they were paid the same as other people with their skills set.
@Sharon Men and women have the same legal rights and responsibilities, but systemic inequalities still exist. Get back to me when we have a female president, and Congress and the courts are 50/50 male and female. We couldn't even pass the ERA.
@Entwistle One of my friends married a woman who worked for 20 years as a commercial electrician. She's very feminine.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@LeopoldBloom Good for her.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@LeopoldBloom A man can't choose whether a woman aborts their baby or not.
@Entwistle He shouldn't since it's not inside his body. If a man wants a say, he should cultivate a relationship with the woman so she will feel obligated to include him in the decision. But she shouldn't have to. That's a biological difference, not a legal one.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@LeopoldBloom I never said a man should have those rights. I was just pointing out that he doesn't.
Sharon · F
@LeopoldBloom
Get back to me when we have a female president,
Here, in the UK, we've had three female Prime Ministers.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@Sharon And all three were arseholes. That has nothing to do with their gender mind.
@Sharon Heck, they had a female PM in Pakistan of all places. That would be like a Jewish girl being voted Miss Rheingold.

We're a ways from having a female president in the US.

@Entwistle
And all three were arseholes.
I tend to agree. Two of them were totally useless but one was, at least, a strong leader. Much like Attila the Hun; Genghis Kahn; Adolf Hitler; Benito Mussolini et al.
.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@Sharon Agreed. Awful woman..but she had balls!
