I feel like for a guy to wear makeup there's likely to be a stronger motive behind it, because of the risks involved.
If I thought people were going to treat me like shit, or at the very least give me weird looks, I don't know if I would be wear makeup unless it was an important form of self expression to me.
As a woman, it's not something I have to think ir worry much about beyond knowing it is expected of me to wear makeup if I want to look presentable to others.

I’ve known a lot of men who use makeup for work in television or on stage. Those bright spotlights can really make your skin look awful if you don’t.
