Have you ever been asked to prove who you are to someone online because someone else hurt them?

Would you take offense to it if you are asked?

Why/ why not?

quite a few times. and often because they don't think i'm the girl in my pictures.
and no i don't take offense to it, but wonder why they don't usually seem to feel the same need to prove who they are as well. always seems one sided, everyone must prove to THEM

@DancingStarGoddess Yes. When they ask you to prove yourself a certain way, it leaves you open to them in a way that can become scary.
@SW-User right! and i've always noticed, they never seem to want to provide the same level of proof. it's always "you go first" even if they were the one to approach. you end up worried slightly about what they're gonna do with that knowledge

@DancingStarGoddess Lol yeah. All this 'proving' is nonsense especially if we're not romantically involved.
@SW-User exactly how i feel, i never understood the need to have so much personal info about someone who had no desire to meet, date or whatever else with them. seems strange. people wanna know what you do for a living, where you work, married, how many kids, and a picture etc all this just to have a casual chat about regular things. seems like being forced to have a closeness you didn't desire as they demanded to "know" you and your life in just minutes

@DancingStarGoddess LOL. It's also a pet peeve with me. :D
