Were you allowed to have friends visit?

I had maybe a handful of times when my friends were permitted to visit my home... And a handful of times I was allowed to have dinner at a friend's house, if I was allowed to stay over that late.

Only once in a great while. My dad really hated people around him after work. Didn't wanna deal with noisy children at all, he always made my friends a bit uncomfortable with his negativity. I went out to see them a lot though. It was easy to get picked up after mum was off work (it was a small town)

@BlueClapTrap that's really sad :( it's hard to be around that all the time.
