True sorrow sings unmistakably. Moves the soul in whom resonates sorrow

@DanielChristensen So poetic, but then why am I not surprised?

There's something beautiful about sorrow, in music it's beautiful because of its raw authenticity. Sharing someone's most intimate life experiences in a few minutes time.

Seeing sorrow in people is powerful because in that moment you are able see through every guise that the person wore & you finally see them, you see who they really are & their uninhibited beauty.

I don't sing songs just because I'm feeling a certain way, but often to hear a story, or to feel someone's thoughts & emotions as they share them, in a powerful way.

@Winterwanderer That is beautifully said.

No..But its more like for listening for me. Those songs normally have really good and meaningful lyrics. When I am sad I go for rock. I don't really try to sing much.
SW-User
@argav83 I am always singing when I am alone.
No, for years I never understood them truly because I couldn’t relate until I got older, but I still enjoyed them very much and thought they were beautiful, now I just connect to them a lot more than before because it’s a way of understanding how I feel.
SW-User
@Stark I seem to connect to sad songs better as well. Even when I am not sad.

I love listening to romantic Spanish music.

I have my select few that I listen to occasionally... they certainly don't feel as strongly as they once did when I was hurt, but I still LOVE singing my heart out along with them.

@SW-User I love some Spanish songs, there is a rhythm in it that resonates with me, although I have no idea what it means, lol.

No.. I think people should be open to their creative flow no matter what way the wave pulls you in their direction..

@SerenitiesScars Very nicely said.

@Pianist1234 But for us non artists, everywhere we sing becomes our stage. We got to take what we can find.

Nope

But it's really hard to sing a happy song when you're sad.
