No. Normally when I say “I need to sleep in it,” it just means that I’m too lazy or too annoyed to think about it at that moment and want an exscuse to put it off.

It has in the past, for a couple of major things. Once, I came very close to joining the Army Reserve, "to pay for college," but I slept on it and decided not to join. Had I joined, I would have been in Operation Desert Storm.
Absolutely, allows me to take the emotion out of it and be totally objective and able to make a sound decision.
@Coyotedave611 Understood, although sometimes I've gone to sleep frustrated and when I wake up and think about the situation again, the frustration returns.
@DreamyCrush Sometimes "sleeping on it" entails a bit of tincture of time. I do the same thing.

If it's a highly emotive situation, yeah... sometimes logic tact and grace take a bit to catch up to my sensitivities.
