Ocean air? I always wondered this about people that stay at island resorts, if they wanted to stay entirely at a nice hotel they should have just did that in their country and save some money.

SW-User
@Jackaloftheazuresand I've done this, traveled internationally and done the whole enjoying a different culture experience. But lately I'm missing the point on doing it. There is abundant beauty in every country so traveling far seems pointless.

@SW-User I did a four day cruise around the Bay of Islands in NZ. It was cheaper than travelling by vehicle, hotels and beautiful food. Excellent food service, entertainment, shows,The beautiful ocean, sky, waves, sun sets, sea birds, dolphins.meeting new people. It was well worth it and I want to do a longer one.

Because I can't spot dolphins from city (land locked) I live in. :P :P 😅
Once I got an opportunity to be on a boat and be on delta waters (it's not high seas, but its point where river meets the sea) for a day, even though only seats that were left were floor seats on the top deck. I took it. I went in alone, no friends or family. Within hours of starting the journey, boat was surrounded in dense fog and setting sun lit up waters like a golden path to heaven. It was such a surreal feeling. For a second I literally thought I was going to heaven. It was all white around and setting sun lit water looked like golden carpet.
Why did I go on this trip? Just wanted to try it because I live in a land locked city and it very rare I get near water or on a boat. I just kept an open mind and WHY NOT attitude??? I had no expectations from the trip, but when I came back, it was experience to remember.
Will I want to try again?? Not really. :)

@MenzernaSF4000 Well I get those day trips. A cruise is something quite different though.
MenzernaSF4000 · 36-40, M
@SW-User I know what you mean... Sometimes its the experience of the journey that people enjoy.
cheesyAF · 31-35, M
Doing this on land wouldn't be nearly as cool as doing it on a cruise ship. U_U

@SW-User Does it?🙈

SW-User
@cheesyAF Lol you know it does!
cheesyAF · 31-35, M
@SW-User True.😅

SW-User
I guess it's the feeling resulted from thinking about possibilities to discover the unknown.

SW-User
You can get seasick on a cruise ... people, sick before getting sick ....*_^

SW-User
@SW-User Yeah the thought of being away from steady ground for so long doesn't appeal.
Kookey · 56-60, F
Have you ever been on a Cruise? It's not an experience I have ever had on land.

SW-User
@Kookey I've not, or I'd not be asking this qn.

SW-User
I went on a container ship, that was way more interesting

SW-User
@SW-User How so?

SW-User
@SW-User I got to hang out with the hot first officer and eat dinner with the captain, and I could explore the ship. I was on the bridge a lot and they showed me how it all worked. I was the only passenger on that trip and had almost an entire deck to myself. There was lots of time to read books and watch the sea go by, and let the jangling in my brain calm down.
I'd be bored af on a cruise.

I'll never know.

SW-User
@SapphicHeart :) Okay
Because they like spending money on things they can’t really afford.. it’s pointless.
Kookey · 56-60, F
@StaticNightmares that's a silly answer. They aren't expensive compared to what you pay for the same trip not by boat and the service is excellent. Anyone can spend money on things they can't afford, houses, cars, hobbies, drugs, alcohol, other types of travel. Don't put people in boxes. I would never have afford the experienced I had
If I had driven, paid for motels, food, seeing dolphins, birds, sun sets, meeting new people. Where I live its really expensive to travel to other places. A cruise package is one very affordable way. I will do a bigger one around u nd the Pacific islands when I save enough to do so.

My parents go on cruises, they go with friends and love it.
I'd struggle with cabin fever I think, many of them don't even have windows.

@SW-User i really enjoyed camping in the uk this year, we went to different sites, it was relaxed and easy.

SW-User
@BabyLonia Yeah I enjoy camping. :)

SW-User
Good damn question. I've been on one and it sucked. Could have spent a lot less staying inland

SW-User
@SW-User Thank you! :D
