I talked with a young muslim male today at work.

I walked with my hound and went inside to get him a bowl of water. As my friend drank this guy was happy to see my pup drink and was excited to play with him. He was telling me that how you treat pets is how you are affected in the after life. I asked him what happens if you beat a woman. He immediately stopped talking. Did I say something too offend him...?

@MikefromEP Zhudi Jasser. Totally laid back mellow dude who is very brave in calling for reform. I suppose you could call him the Muslim version of an Uncle Tom, but he's Islamic modernist. Very cool person.

@MikefromEP Really? I though it was a colloquialism based on the character in the book "Uncle Tom's Cabin" describing a black person who placated the white status quo during the reformation.

@MikefromEP Not necessarily reading the book, but skimming the book and reading about the book....Like say, "Paradise Lost" Really hard to read, but easy to skim and 'read about'....
