Static Rent a Ment

From Stephen King's 1990 Intro to The Stand he said a marvelous thing about the act of reading as compared to watching films, film is still just a bunch of pictures, it's frozen, etched in stone, with the printed word the mind is the camera, creating fluidity.

On that point i would like to heartily agree, it is a lovely illustration of the unique thing reading is. I don't think i'm yet able to put aside ADD tendencies to achieve that enriched textured fluidity for any extended piece of time.

The pleasures of reading for me are more strongly found in the contextual frameworks, developed over time with going through initial phases and having collected an array of that type, and ingesting videos which rapidly go through a top 10 list and only rarely listening to what they say about them, having that supersonic grasshopper sense of what the future unventured ventures, for by being unventured you have had imaginatively ventured, thus by the amount of time venturing this way opened millions of reflections of the original, but differing in key areas.

Likewise the difference between old time radio drama and TV. Radio engaged the brain in visualizing, providing context. TV tends to dull the senses, attempting to do all the work for you and mostly failing.
