when you help someone out financially

and they say they will make payments at such and such time monthly..then that time comes and goes..so you merely ask for communication..and they get an attitude like you owe them money....

anyone else experience this? 😤😤😤

If I were to get back all the money I've let people borrow from me, I could pay my house off.
That's fun when they turn it around like you're the one who owes them something, or my absolute favorite, is how quickly they turn on you the second you won't give them anymore money.

@NickyLee oh yeah! i am owed prob like 20k overall?? while they get an entirely interest free loan from someone trying to help them out. just infuriating. if i was a millionaire, it would be gifted and not loaned..but my bills are almost 4k a month.

@NickyLee no you and me both!! im way better about it now..but i have loaned out both of my vehicles this year, allowed people to stay with me rent free, surprised someone with groceries who said he was going whole days without eating (he lied), loaned 1800 to my cousin (1300 was supposed to be paid back in january. she will EVENTUALLY pay tho), etc. but as far as actual money LOANS this year, aside from my cousin, it was like 300 or so. im getting better on saying no to THAT aspect at least. but yeah the people using you right now..you need to cut them off. they know how much you make now and the skills you have..and you may as well not work if you arent stocking some away in savings every month. that is very generous of you, though..and i love the handiness of someone who can fix up cars like that, wow!

@NickyLee oh and the first guy i loaned my suv to..ran up 40 tolls in my name, knowing i didnt have a toll sticker..i let him borrow it for 3 months and he didnt even return it detailed.or pay for the oil change..nada.

as for my cousin borrowing the 2nd vehicle..it has already had a tire blowout and i am letting them use my spare.

but im like damn, it is so true that no good deed goes unpunished, huh?! i have to really know someone is going through it, in multiple ways, with unforeseen circumstances and such..to loan now.

it sucks bc i would LOVE to help grateful people. if i borrow an effin TWENTY-FIVE CENT PIECE from you, im tripping over myself to pay you back..and im owing you a favor next time. that is just me.

but no..they would rather lose their benefactor as a friend!

@foldedunfolding on the rare occasion I have swallowed my pride enough to ask for help I made it my number one priority to pay the person back.
Except for this current moment. I owe my best friend like $250 or something because we bought a bunch of motorcycle parts and I didn't have cash on me at the time but I'm out of town for the month and he is too stubborn to use any of the pay apps, and it's driving me nuts.

@foldedunfolding the tolls are all too familiar of a situation for me. I let a guy who worked for me, take my truck back to his house where he was supposed to get on his bike to ride out to Kentucky or something for a funeral. Then months later I get a registration suspension in the mail because he actually took my truck out there and never said a word to me about it.

I have slowly gotten better at handing out money, and some people who used to hit me up have backed off some. I finally snapped on one person and his "attention getter" I gave him seemed to resonate throughout the loser community. So maybe I'm getting there

@NickyLee ugh as they say..dont dx yourself with depression until you assess the aholes around you!!!

@foldedunfolding words to live by right there. I always accuse myself of then just blaming my problems on other people, if I look at it that way.

@NickyLee this is why i will never be able to fully back modern day psychology..they will NEVER have the complete story
