I have said goodbye to my ex boyfriend for good

I wrote him one last letter saying everything that I felt and since he wants nothing to do with me. I’m just going to leave him alone now. I told him to please take care and have a good life same as he told me. I can’t jeep waiting around hoping he will change his mind about being my good friend. It’s not going to happen. He made his choice of a life without me and I can’t force him to be my best friend.
