This too - - I'm old and I live alone now and the slightest noise gets me to wondering if someone is trying to break in to rob and perhaps kill me BUT, for some inexplicable reason, the louder the noise the more ready and able I become to search out the source (the danger be damned).

More the later. Last time it was the cops wanting to interrogate me about my next door neighbor. They were investigating him for domestic violence it seemed like. It's usually pretty quiet here.
