It's COMPLETELY HORRENDOUS 😖
It's slowly contributing to our lack of expression and feeling in our words.
I think the reason for this is two fold : 1. We are fucking lazy at heart . 2. It's the slow bit speed of texting that frustrates us and encourages us to abbreviate .
The conscious brain can process at about 50?, 60? bps, Speech is like 40 bps (bits per second), texting is one quarter of that, if not less .
The problem is that we are using devices that slow our expression by 75%. Hence we are condensing it....for efficiency . We are giving up quality of speech for convenience - much like so much else in our lives : food, friends, entertainment .
