The biggest thing is don’t establish rules for yourself that are too constricting. Just an example if you are viewing something that is an opportunity that you want to take - even if it violates what you would normally do, you should take it. Remember life is organic and flows. Now if something violates a belief you hold dear maybe don’t go there. But even those things should be questioned.

I guess it all depends. I’slept with my husband on our first date and we were inseparable til he died. Other man, I’ve held back and waited. Some lasted and others bolted the minute they got some action. I figure if it feels right for both and you go ahead with it then antiquated rules of decorum go out the window

Always stick to your principles. Accept that they need reviewing from time to time though. Does he know that you never kiss on a first date? If so it shouldn't count as an opportunity missed. Just a deferment of sorts.
