Tuesday Thoughts from Sage

Was told that the second year is the hardest and I have to say that many don’t understand.

Also i believe as time passes sometimes it gets harder because the part of us that needs safety doesn't age along with the now person. How can i make a child feel safe when I'm so much older.? It's hard to go back even 2 years and convince the hurt part everything is ok now .
I’ve learned from experience that traumatic experiences never fully leave our minds. It may not recall the specific day, but it always knows the season of pain. Years and years later there can be a sadness or pain that we cannot quite put our finger on…it’s our steel trap of a memory cracking a window. I don’t believe grief ever leaves. It just becomes symbiotic within our ever moving life.

Thinking of you my friend.
That's what sucks about PTSD, you think you're past it then suddenly you're feeling it like it just happened. I think it's hard for someone to empathize with it if they aren't familiar with it or have experienced it.
