True, but I think there would have been some red flags but nobody would have cared enough to look until it's too late.

Most people with criminal records never commit horrendous crimes.

@Puppycat23 Almost like having a criminal history is a not a good indicator of if someone will commit a horrendous crime.
Puppycat23 · F
@GlitterEater It can be if they do commit something like murder or any other felony.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@GlitterEater True -- the "horrendous" crimes make up a very small percentage of total crimes. And I believe murder itself has one of the lowest, perhaps lowest, recidivism rates or all serious crimes?
Yes, I think this is more common then it used to be. There is more societal pressure to conform, to compete, to win, to succeed, to be happy.

EVERY criminal has no record until they are caught for the first time.
Puppycat23 · F
@ChipmunkErnie yeah but still. What makes someone with no criminal record for violence, no mental issues commit something like murder?
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@Puppycat23 Anger, drugs, alcohol, jealousy, accident -- all kinds of emotional stress.

There are always signs (mental health) we just don't know how to read them and handle them which is sinful

Technically you don’t listen to true crime stories. And yes some serial killers do/ did have a criminal record before they became a serial killer.
Technically everyone has no criminal record

Omg yes so true
Crime documentaries are terrifying and in the news, I’ve read so many horror stories, each one - more if not just as twisted as the next
That’s why gut feelings are so important
Trust them!
Feeling safe is priceless.

Occasionally there were warning signs that were ignored or attributed to something else. Someone intervened so that charges weren’t pressed, etc.
