Have you ever done something really really good and then immediately thought. Dammit, now they are gonna expect this all the time.

Not asking for a friend this time. LOL

I usually don't think that until I see it in the other persons behavior

I have great beginners luck, and that sucks because it leads to bloated expectations

When I was a teenager still living at home on our tobacco farm, my job was to drive one of my dad's tractors with a big snow blower on the back and keep our long laneway clear of snow for cars and trucks to come in.

Our neighbor was an old retired farmer who lived by himself who's lane was always plugged solid with snow and I don't really know how he got out when he had to. So one day, I decided to just slide on over there unannounced and clean out his laneway for him, then leave without saying anything.

I did this about 6 times from one week to the next when finally, he came out of his house one day waving his arms and wanting me to stop! So I opened the cab door and asked him 'what's up?'.

He started giving me sh*t for never blowing out all the snow from around his barn after I'd cleaned out his lane and if I was going to do a job, then do it right!

He never offered me a cent for what I'd already done 6 times before, but that was the last time I ever showed up at a neighbor's place to give them something I thought they needed!

Suggest you ask more great questions that don't require just a 'yes/no/yup' answer in future!
