Honesty keeps you from having to remember different versions of the past which leads to clear recollection and a clean conscience. When you're honest, you can speak freely without worrying about exposing any "skeletons."

I believe that when you waste memory on lies, it displaces real memories of actual events that really occurred. They take a lower priority because you're not worried about being questioned about the truth, but over time, after many lies, it all must get so confusing.

Ultimately, I'm not one who ever wants to get caught in a lie. For me, it's cowardly. Since all lies must be connected to the truth at some point, and the truth is already connected to the truth at all points, it's only a matter of time before a lie comes into question. The only way to avoid it is to not tell lies. ..even if you're dishonest, don't lie about it.

I mean, if you get caught cheating, don't lie about it. If you get caught stealing, don't lie about it. Lying only makes things worse
