Thoughts on The Pittsburgh Steelers?

KunsanVeteran · 61-69, M
Well, they finished strong last year and I think they did pretty well in the draft & free agency. They’ve given Pickett some more protection, strengthened the running game, and beefed up the tight ends.

But they’re in what is arguably the toughest division and Cincinnati and Baltimore are going to be tough. Cleveland may surprise us, too.

Do you think Kenny Pickett can be a franchise QB? Also, are you a Steelers fan?

@XenonRush Oh, yeah, I am a fan. I grew up about 25 miles from the point in Pittsburgh.

I really am not sold on Kenny just yet. But if the open up the playbook for him he may just surprise me. I am disappointed in Harris as a running back, but they did pick up a couple of backs that look promising.

I am a big Tomlin fan, though, and I’m glad he salvaged a winning season last year after all the setbacks early in the season.

No idea, don't follow football
XenonRush · M
Do you happen to know any Steelers fans?
@deadgerbil

I know a LOT of Steelers fans, having grown up in Western Pennsylvania.

Personally, pro sports don't interest me, except to be amazed that, with all the money thrown at it, every game isn't a tie.

I lived there

I hated Cordell. Loved Ben (Steelers fan by birth with no say in the matter).
They ain’t winning any super bowls anytime soon with KC and Buffalo looking really good .
KunsanVeteran · 61-69, M
@AthrillatheHunt If Bell and Brown had been a little more about the team than themselves they might have had a couple more SB rings
It's really to bad for them that it's not the 1970s anymore.
@KunsanVeteran Wikipedia knows!!

@ElwoodBlues Yes! That’s him! I was thinking his first name was Dave, but I just couldn’t quite remember. He was a friend, but not one of my closest friends. I was shocked when he joined the Steelers. Hometown boy made good!
KunsanVeteran · 61-69, M
@ElwoodBlues In defense of me and my not-so-young-anymore memory there are a lot of Trouts in WPA!

I miss The Fridge
Lostpoet · M
@originnone Didn't the Bears score like seven touchdowns? Jim Mcmahon was Byu's QB.
originnone · 61-69, M
@Lostpoet I think it ended 46-10. BYU has had some great QBs....Steve Young, McMahon, Ty Detmer
Lostpoet · M
@originnone 😅My brother named his first kid Steve Young.

Sky is the limit. However, they have to beat the bengals. I have been a fan since 1972. Some good years and some poor years
originnone · 61-69, M
I hope they go 0-16 every year. I hate them with a passion. I do think they will finish second in the division. Cleveland is a train wreck and I think the Rat Birds are too committed to Jackson. If Burrow stays healthy, I think the Bengals take the division again.

The Squeelers have a good young qb and are well coached. I hate them because they are always the dirtiest nfl team.
I was a fan of US Steel, Bethlehem, too.

But I have come around to thinking that the Steelers are not serious about actually working in the steel industry in this country. They might be embedded spies.
KunsanVeteran · 61-69, M
I’m afraid Tomlin might not be back next year if they don’t at least make a run in the playoffs

😓
Tres13 · 51-55, M
They shit Bro

The only good thing is their Hot cheer girls
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@Tres13 "The Steelers have been the first NFL team that has a cheerleading team named Steelerettes since the 60s. However, the group disbanded in 1969. Since then, the Steelers have stopped using cheerleading teams."
Tres13 · 51-55, M
That’s why they shit@sunsporter1649
KunsanVeteran · 61-69, M
If I were a betting man, I’d pick them to go “over” this year, barring any serious injuries to a few key players.
Dino11 · M
Is their QB any good?
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@Dino11 We will find out....

@sunsporter1649

@XenonRush Both my parents were from The Burg, spent quite a few summers visiting, and we had no pro sports in Florida except racing
