If you had a roommate that would fart constantly and dig for boogers all the time but would help pay rent what would you do?

Find ways to to get entertainment from it with a kiss of back handed humiliation.
When he has his arm up to his elbow in his nose say "DAMN ... finding any gold? Cause you sure look invested".
But careful to look disgusted when he answers or it will just get worse.

I would look for another roommate. Lol.
