@Vaper The other one on my father's side immigrated to the U.S. to escape the Franco-Prussian war, had a successful career as a skilled woodworker in Chicago until burnt out by the Great Fire, then migrated to California and started a successful brewery/saloon. Once he earned enough in Chicago he sent for his bride as he had promised. I would call him loyal, pragmatic, and achiever. The two on my mother's side I don't know much about because they never left the Island of Pico, but the offspring they sent directly to California got a strong set of values from somewhere.
