@SW-User Well, let me give you one example. People of my generation in the UK frequently experienced corporal punishment at school. (It doesn’t happen now, but still does in some US states and in other parts of the world,) Some of us found it helpful to share our experiences, which was what EP, as its name suggests, was about. A friend of mine, a respectable lady and a grandmother, described how she had been caned at her school, 50 years or more ago, at the same time as some younger girls. She later posted a fictional story based on her real life experience. She was accused by the management of paedophilia and given a final warning. Naturally she was deeply hurt and left. I left too, in sympathy, but returned after a while, partly to keep in touch with a few friends and partly to make my opinion of the management known to anyone who will listen!

@MartinII As long as she portraying that as a fictional story, it seems strange that the management could take those actions. Given that I'm well versed with my country's constitution and the legal system, we are allowed to make statements as long as it doesn't directly intend to defame an organisation.
I transited right from EP to SW and yes SW now is the closest match for EP. The difference is not in the app but the people. Though SW has all the features of EP, the people of EP were more matured, had quality time to spend on EP, respected one another and so on. Stories on EP connected a lot of people as one had tome to write, and also read stories of others. But here nobody bothers about stories and most just come to show attitude on one another.
But definitely SW is not as bad as during the time of its inception.
@in10RjFox No. EP had a dedicated feed, quite separate from other posts and comments, which contained everything one’s friends had said, and nothing else. There is nothing comparable on SW.
As to the second point, my friends are far less active than they used to be even six months ago. And you can certainly blame SW for that!
@MartinII I get it. But I do remember SW having it but they may have taken it down to prevent trolling. It's now as replies within whiteboard of users, which I agree is quite complex.
@in10RjFox Just to be clear, it was a single feed containing everything all ones friends had said. Here you have to look at each friend’s profile individually. The consolidated feed we had on EP has never been available on SW. I have been complaining about it since day 1 (or perhaps day 30 or so, when I joined). Many people have supported my complaints, but the management have never replied.
I wish you luck with that, hopefully you will find what you seek here. This site was always intended as a replacement for EP - many on here were originally EP'ers... I wouldn't say it's quite the same as EP however.

@Adaydreambeliever Yeah but honestly it's the closest I found to EP and I am really like the old members are here. Hopefully I cross my paths once again with those wonderful honest people.
Welcome to the site, and I'm sure you will enjoy your stay, and find some friends! Don't take it too seriously, please... sometimes it's more of an amusement park, and sometimes it's just a madhouse! 🌷
SW-User
@helenS Hey thanks for your kind wishes. Fortunately, I am serious when it's worth the effort and fun loving with immense capability to have brainless conversations lol
Welcome. We could definitely use your empathetic aura here.🌷
Just a heads up... We're going through some major changes atm. There isn't any reason to send friend requests. Unfortunately that feature was stripped and we're all a bit lost in the confusion, so excuse the mess.
SW-User
@MoonlightLullaby I am new here atm so haven't really explored much. For the time being, group interactions gives an opportunity to know more about how is everyone doing
@SW-User This one actually is the closest. But some bad updates have been messing with the site lately so it's def not improving sadly. Yet it's the only website I have found other than the old EP that had a format that was more like a chat room. Although I do like reddit as well. It is good for finding certain interest groups or hobbies.

@canusernamebemyusername Ok worth exploring. That's what even the founder of EP suggested on Quora
My life for the past 15 years has seen a pattern of one heartbreak after another. It affects me and sucks the life out of me - right now I'm on the verge of a breakdown. How do I break this cycle and move ahead? I'm afraid of being alone and dying alone
SW-User
@solitaire Hey I just saw your message. Contacting you privately
@swirlie Interestingly, I have got this heads up from users with several comments below. I hope we find a platform that at least closely does a job as good as EP

@swirlie A game of trivial pursuit. Apt description.
