Finally found an alternative to Experience Project

I have been for several years longing to find a platform similar to the Experience project which allowed to interact with people from diverse backgrounds with their own sets of struggles. It feels absolutely amazing to find this application and I am looking forward to be of some help to the community who mainly have emotional and mental health issues.

I transited right from EP to SW and yes SW now is the closest match for EP. The difference is not in the app but the people. Though SW has all the features of EP, the people of EP were more matured, had quality time to spend on EP, respected one another and so on. Stories on EP connected a lot of people as one had tome to write, and also read stories of others. But here nobody bothers about stories and most just come to show attitude on one another.

But definitely SW is not as bad as during the time of its inception.

@in10RjFox I fully agree with what you say about the people and the subjects covered. But I disagree that there is no difference in the app. In my opinion SW has always been less user friendly, from a technical point of view, than EP was, and in recent months has got worse. Moreover, we now have to suffer the censorship of various kinds of content. In these circumstances it is hardly surprising that the members of SW have, with exceptions, tended to become less interesting and, it seems, fewer in number.

What technical point are you talking about ? And how does that affect quality of people ?

App being less user friendly has got nothing to do with people being unfriendly. There is no censorship in messaging.

The one thing I loved about EP as compared to FB are the selfies and photos. But it is people who use fb / se like fb isn't it ?

@in10RjFox My point about the site being less user friendly than EP is that it puts people off. It is much more difficult to follow what one’s friends aresaying on SW than it was on EP, and has recently become more difficult still. I didn’t say anything about the quality of people - you did! You are right that there is no censorship in messaging, but there is lots in public posting.

@MartinII I do get to see it on my home page. Just that it's amidst others questions .. and one thing I noted is my friends circle is not as active as how it used to be on EP .. but how can I blame SW for that ?

@in10RjFox No. EP had a dedicated feed, quite separate from other posts and comments, which contained everything one’s friends had said, and nothing else. There is nothing comparable on SW.

As to the second point, my friends are far less active than they used to be even six months ago. And you can certainly blame SW for that!

@MartinII I get it. But I do remember SW having it but they may have taken it down to prevent trolling. It's now as replies within whiteboard of users, which I agree is quite complex.

@in10RjFox Just to be clear, it was a single feed containing everything all ones friends had said. Here you have to look at each friend’s profile individually. The consolidated feed we had on EP has never been available on SW. I have been complaining about it since day 1 (or perhaps day 30 or so, when I joined). Many people have supported my complaints, but the management have never replied.
