Board Certification
Education and Training with an Accredited School
Membership in a Professional Association

It's kinda why we don't handle things like surgery and pharmacy science with "come by and try it out."

The College would be liable for any problems or medical problems that arose with an untrained "therapist". Sports Massage is a specialized area of the Massage Therapy realm and really consist of three different styles of massage, depending on whether those receiving the bodywork are pre-event, post-event, or between event. A 600+ hour course CAN be done in about 9 months plus a few months of internship, at a cost of about $6-12,000, depending on where you attend training.

When I got laid off from my business job and decided to become a teacher my friend suggested I become a massage therapist since I have experience from all the massages I’ve given her!
