If you are still in contact with her, then cut off the ties.

@Bleak it’s a bit complicated as we work together so it’s hard as we have to communicate regularly.

@Rogo1 No therapy, no method is going to work then. Because it seems like you are not ready to get over your ex.

@Bleak not really I am genuinely interested in moving on but it’s a little bit complicated, however I’m trying daily to accomplish that.

Honestly, the most effective method is just time. Time provides the distance needed for the mind and heart to detach. Within that time it’s best to develop new habits and feed the hobbies you love that’ll give the ole dopamine a boost so your mind’s less likely to drift backwards.

Thanks @acupaday this is highly insightful. I think I can work on letting go , however my greatest fear is if I let go then she will let go emotionally and all the love we thought we had will be gone .

@Rogo1 Love will always reside within you both. How could it not? Don’t let that fear of what could be deter you from gaining the healing you need right now though. You owe yourself the peace that comes with it.

@acupaday you are definitely right, my life has been turned upside down because I’ve been finding it difficult to let go even though I know it’s not healthy.
