Don't let one negative experience knock you down - just move on to more understanding people.

Do you have people who you don't have to live with that you could ask while you try to build your confidence up again???

@HootyTheNightOwl I have a few friends but I’m scared to ask. I was scared to ask my sister.
@LireaSemaji What about extended family??? Grandparents or something??? They're more likely to understand than your sister (who is probably part of the reason why you are feeling like you do right now).

I'd make a point of telling your therapist about this experience you've had with her, too - the therapist may be able to help you with strategies to deal with it differently in future.

Well, as somewhat of a therapist in my own right, I usually caution clients against broadcasting their therapy experience for the exact reason you share here. It's really a personal journey for you and the therapist and should be kept that.

I think you're likable because you care about being the best version of yourself

That's a strange reaction. Surely they should realise why you're doing this and give positive comments. Keep trying with other people ♥️👍

It seems like a pretty normal therapy assignment. I’m sorry she responded like that. I think you should ask your mom
