I’ve been going to therapy..

My therapist and I have been talking for two weeks now. I’m currently getting some CBT. she asked me to ask people “reasons why I’m likeable.” I’ve been struggling with thoughts that I’m unlikable and defective. I asked my sister this question and she looked at me confused even after I told her that I’m in therapy and my therapist gave me homework to ask this question. She too use to be in therapy but stopped going. Her response kind of surprised me. It was almost hysterical maybe shocked. I thought it would be more neutral and understanding. Being that she’s been to therapy I assumed she would be more open but I was wrong. I told her I was going to ask mom but I believe I overheard her talking to her about me or it could’ve been her boyfriend (who is also in therapy) and by the tone of her voice she sounded even more confused and hysterical because I could hear her through closed doors. I’m beginning to regret asking and I’m planning on not asking anyone else.

I think you're likable because you care about being the best version of yourself
