I Don’t Want To Live In An AI World….Where Most Everything Is Controlled By It Including Chipped Humans…

More than 1,100 new data centers are being planned to be built in the USA. Two such centers have started to apply for land in Oklahoma…one near Lake Draper and another near Piedmont. Both areas have people protesting them. They would be using local water to help cool the centers (and Lake Draper is a water source for Oklahoma City), they generate a huge amount of sound around the clock that is disturbing for anyone living nearby and they will require a huge amount of electricity, which means more power plants to be built.

Watch your electricity bill go up when that place is built

@smileylovesgaming Oklahoma passed a bill this past month that says that these companies will have to pay for their own energy.

But, but, but, look at all the advangtages!

@Nimbus Being chipped and treated like a slave is never going to be an advantage.

The sad truth is that if we do NOT build and keep up, and even dominate...then Chinese AI...or Russian AI...will take over...and our citizens will have to learn to like communism, as sucky as it is.
It is a war...even if it is undeclared.

@4meAndyou It’s so close that it’s right over the horizon. Their deadline for getting it built & running is 2030. That is 3 1/2 years from now.
I bet a squillion bajillion trillion dollars the eco warriors don’t sabotage data centres..

They only light bushfires and blame climate change

Same happening here and everywhere. To my knowledge non of us asked for this garbage it's being forced on us. Technological imposition is what it is. Their profits will always override our wishes.
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
@Gibbon It’s not just about cost & profit but more about control of human beings.
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@cherokeepatti Those with the money are ruling the world no matter what the citizens have to say. Changes in our laws over the years have intentionally allowed this to come to be. The corruption of government leaders in the rich pockets
cherokeepatti · 70-79, F
@Gibbon The same with the turnpike being forced on this area. It will serve corporations who are planning to use self-driving trucks I believe. I think it’s the Walmart Corporation and maybe Sam’s Club that will benefit quite a bit. They can bypass the Oklahoma City traffic this way and eliminate a lot of employees too.

I think it funny how they talk about how we have to alter our lives because of climate change and how we need to save the planet, but yet they are pushing this garbage down our throats.
