Anyone else us an "old-fashioned" flip-phone?

Poll - Total Votes: 6
Yes, me! Flip-phones are the best!
I use a smartphone.
I don't even have a phone!
Something else (ex. two cans connected by a string, smoke signals, shouting very loudly).

I don't like smartphones. At all. They're annoying, addictive, and most of the features I'd never use.

Why "old-fashioned"?

You are comparing two different things though. "Smart" refers to what the telephone can do. "Flip" means it can be folded closed. I think one manufacturer has managed to create an instrument that is both - the difficulty was making a tightly but reliably flexible screen.

It's only a matter of style. My phone is of "flip" design, light-weight and when folded, is compact enough for even a fairly small pocket; and it is only about seven years old.

I think such instruments are still made, as I hope because the 3D services will end sometime this year so I will need replace it.

As it cost about £45, from memory, I suppose I will have had my money's worth from it at just over £6 per annum write-down! (My PAYG call costs are well under £50/year.)

I used to have Virgin Mobile years ago and both of the phones I had were flip phones. It's all I really needed honestly.

I only use the smartphone for browsing the Internet as my flip phone couldn't even do that. Like right now, I'm sitting in my car getting ready to go into work in 15 minutes. Without this phone I wouldn't even be on here typing this or anything.

It's also nice to have for if I'm in the doctor office waiting to be called. It's a good time waster with the couple of games I have on it.

You couldn't catch me with a flip phone. And likely I'm almost three times your age! 🤣

I was totally ecstatic getting a driod in 2008.😊

I could finally run my website, with updates regularly.
I'd like to put the phone down and communicate face to face. I won't though
