@Zaphod42 One person's piece of 'progress' may be experienced by another as short-sighted folly. In which case the choice between "liking it or not" is easily made.

@ffony no one is saying you have to like it, only that’s it’s coming whether or not you do. Take AI for example. The day is rapidly approaching, or maybe has already arrived, when it will irrevocably change life as we know it. Will that be an amazing increase in the quality of life of all people, or the end of humanity as a whole? Only time will tell. But either way it’s coming.

@Zaphod42 The day has long since arrived when I know I can't trust any medium to tell me true facts; or even to honestly identify itself. You don't have to tell me it's "coming".

I even have enough chutzpah to believe that I can see how the disaster to civilization, and perhaps the earth itself, is developing unstoppably "Whether I like it or not."
