I contacted the unhoused guy's brother...

So freaking sad, but he has gone downhill so quickly, and I can tell he has developed schizophrenia. His brother and sister are looking into bakers acting him

He has been getting trespassing misdemeanors right and left, bc homelessness, frankly, has been criminalized in this country. He is on my couch right now, talking non-stop to invisible friends and motioning...something he hadn't done with me even 3 weeks ago.

Yeah, he needs more help than you can provide him with at this stage.

I wouldn't be too bothered about trespassing being in his record... that's just a common way of moving homeless people on from one location to another. Unfortunately, mental illness can be another common struggle, too.

I know that being homeless makes my depression a lot worse and I become suicidal - mostly because of food insecurity and being so cold that I never got warm in the winter months.

@foldedunfolding It felt so surreal, though. I mean, I knew that it wasn't normal and I was sick in my head - but, at the same time, I felt so calm and rational... it wasn't me that changed, it was the world around me.

At least, I know to expect this next time and I can better prepare for it in advance. I have a coat that is much warmer than the one I had last time, and a plan to hook up with support for homeless people and survivors of domestic abuse...

@HootyTheNightOwl so you are out of the DV situation now? i bet even homelessness looks better than that, some days

as for the misdemeanors..he doesnt even have a felony, it's wild..he hasnt even stolen from me. he has tried to have sex with me multiple times, which can be scary sometimes..that'd why we really, really need to get him help.

@foldedunfolding No, I'm mentally preparing myself for homelessness again.

The last 2 weeks have been brutal for me and I have been close to walking out a few times, the thing is that people are getting stabbed to death for walking down the street here in town and I'll likely be spending the first night out here in town because there are no night buses out of town.

An 18 year old was stabbed and died over Christmas.

He probably doesn't even know that he's sick, either, or even remember half of what he's done. Hopefully, his family are able to get him the help he needs so that he can live the best life he can in future.
