Rich people do you know what its like to be really poor?

If you work hard and smart, you will get all the luxuries. Just set the aim. Having a goal in life is very necessary.

like having to buy a used BMW rather than a new Mercedes

Never been rich but I think most rich people have also done unspeakable things to get where they are.

My friend in the philippines grew up in very poor conditions after their father died. To feed his siblings he had to take to the streets. Since meeting him I have helped the family as best i could. Rebuilt the house. Put him and his siblings through school. Covered health care issues. I visited them last february. Now I am retired. Not by choice. So I'm not sure how best to help them. He would like to come here and live and work so he can send money home but the only way that is possible would be to marry him. Thing is...I'm not gay.
And.. i have a gf. But she does not want to get married and is not open to this arrangement. It is a dilemma. A sofies' choice. Were i one of pavlovs' dogs i would just lay down and cover my head with my paws. There must be an alternative.

We are doing ok financially. Ive been poor. Prefer to be ok

In addition to all that, not having a single person in your life that you can trust to help you out.

Ive been there and it sucked.
Thankfully there was help and we took it.
Im not rich now but not poor either.

I have been near middle class to poor my whole life. Nothing new for me. Its just life

They don't care because they don't have to experience these things that should not even exist

Most of those you think of as poor bring it on to themselves. It is there own fault and I have no good feelings about them.
