Rich people do you know what its like to be really poor?

I'm talking if you miss a day of work you won't have enough to pay the rent. You won't have enough money to the healthy food.

Your so poor your dependent on food pantries for food and school supplies for your kids

Sometimes, I get the feel many do know what's it like to suffer for poor living conditions, eating horrible food and forced to do unspeakable things just to make some money just to get by

My friend in the philippines grew up in very poor conditions after their father died. To feed his siblings he had to take to the streets. Since meeting him I have helped the family as best i could. Rebuilt the house. Put him and his siblings through school. Covered health care issues. I visited them last february. Now I am retired. Not by choice. So I'm not sure how best to help them. He would like to come here and live and work so he can send money home but the only way that is possible would be to marry him. Thing is...I'm not gay.
And.. i have a gf. But she does not want to get married and is not open to this arrangement. It is a dilemma. A sofies' choice. Were i one of pavlovs' dogs i would just lay down and cover my head with my paws. There must be an alternative.
