Do you think homelessness is by choice?

Me and my partner tried eveyrhing we could, applied for jobs and asked family for help. Seeked out resources and appiled for help. And we still do that while being homeless.

Staying homeless is by choice. There’s no reason for anyone to still be homeless after more than 6 months. That’s laziness
@Heavenlywarrior Wow, okay! Let's empty out your entire bank account, kick you out on the street with just a tent and a sleeping bag, and see how long it is before you've got a job and an apartment.

@Heavenlywarrior It's not easy to get a job, especially if you are homeless.
Heavenlywarrior · 36-40, M
@LordShadowfire that’s a very specific and rare case not the majority go through. And I said MORE than 6 months.
Heavenlywarrior · 36-40, M
@Riemann it’s very easy to get a job actually I disagree. And if your homeless it’s even more of a reason to work overtime
@Heavenlywarrior Do it, then. Accept my challenge. Cut off all access to your own bank account, move out into the street, and quit your job. See how long it takes before you're back on your feet.

@LordShadowfire why would I do something as foolish as that lol. And being disabled their are also opportunities for all people
PleasurePunch · 100+
@Heavenlywarrior no you are lazy to talk the way you do. But when you are not getting your needs met you should be judged so. It might make u feel better but I doubt it.

You might remember I told you this.
Heavenlywarrior · 36-40, M
@CrazyMusicLover disabled people also have opportunities to get assistance or caretakers let’s be honest

@LordShadowfire In the USA anyone can make a way. It’s not like Haiti or some poverty stricken country
@Heavenlywarrior Then prove it. Do what I suggested. Hell, you don't actually have to get rid of your possessions. Leave your home and your bank account in the care of a trusted friend, and take an extended vacation from your job. Live on the streets for that time, and see how long it takes you to get a job and an apartment.

You won't do it. Because you know you are full of it.

@LordShadowfire I went and got a second job at McDonald’s about 6 months ago because I needed extra money… no drug test. Speedy process. Speedy orientation and started working the following week . Unlimited hours. $13 an hour. Please …there’s no excuse to stay in a fucked up position for more than 6 months UNLESS your physically disabled to move .
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@Heavenlywarrior Some have and some manage to get housed and get to work but it depends on the country and the social system. Sometimes things work well on the paper but then reality is quite different. And also, if someone is mentally ill it could be an entirely different problem because they have to be medicated first and the country can't force anyone to get medicated even if the person needs it.
Heavenlywarrior · 36-40, M
@CrazyMusicLover if someone is mentally ill, with no one to care for them and now they are in the streets then they are unfortunate. Everyone in their lives has abandoned them. This is also not the majority , as for a sane person who is not disabled , there is no excuse to be homeless for more than 6 months.
@Heavenlywarrior So, you're going to take my challenge?
Heavenlywarrior · 36-40, M
@LordShadowfire Ofcourse not.. I’m working on tripling my salary currently but when I do… maybe I’ll take on that project . I’ve seen it done before by millionaires proving that if they stripped all their resources they could start from scratch and become millionaires in a certain amount of time again
Hanginginthere · 31-35, M

@Heavenlywarrior sadly not everyone is granted a job. Especially a good one. A good job really is a luxury and dont take it for granted if you have one. Some people arent very employable and its even harder if you have little kids or transportation issues or no stable home.
