This is why I struggle taking my sleeping pills

So last night I took my sleeping pills along with my PRN sleeping pill. And I sleep very well, to well I guess.

Joel told me as he was getting ready for work that our daughter got up around 1am and was sleep walking. I didn't hear the alarm on her door. He got up and tried to lead her back to her room but she wouldn't move. He tired to wake me up but couldn't. He tried really hard to get up up but he couldn't. He finally got her back into her room. He was able to get up before he went to work.

So yeah this really sucks. I hate knowing that.

Did he try pouring water on you?

@PinkMoon lol no that would of been a little overboard I think

@Cigarguy No, if the purpose is to wake you up I say we get you a spray bottle like a cat. Or put black pepper on your nose. My point is you can experiment with ways to wake you up. The solution is not you not taking your medication, just find a way to wake you up.

@PinkMoon I would prefer to just being able to wake up by him saying my name or shaking me

@Cigarguy That's not your reality though. If you're not open to trying alternative methods to waking up then I think you were looking for a reason not to take the pills and you found one.

@PinkMoon I have struggled with insomnia for years and I've never taken a sleeping pill that has put me in such a deep sleep that I couldn't wake up before. I need to find a pill that will put me to sleep but I will also be able to wake up quickly in case there's an emergency. What if there was a fire what if my partner wasn't there and I was the only one there and my kids needed me and they couldn't wake me up.

@Cigarguy Okay I've been doing some digging and although they're used for people who've fainted I think this could help.

@PinkMoon thank you for looking into this. I have an appointment with a new specialist next week so hopefully we'll figure something out

@Cigarguy You will. As someone who has had to try a lot of meds to get the right combo to treat my bipolar I can say that I truly believe the right meds exist, unfortunately sometimes we have to try a few of them to find the right one.

@PinkMoon my biggest issue is I have anxiety, OCD and tourette's so it's hard to find the prefect sleeping pills that work
