Gotta love it when a doctor cares

So I am on a PRN sleeping pill for when I have extreme insomnia. But I don't like taking the pill because it really knocks me out and I have a very hard time waking up in the morning. And it's a capsule so I am unable to break it in half so just by chance I sent my doctor a message today and they're changing my prescription to a tablet so I can now break it in half if I need to. I'm so excited. I need sleep so bad right now

Glad it worked out for you! I, too, have sleep issues and am hesitant to take sleep meds every night. If I wait till I have a problem sleeping, then for sure I'll be groggy in the morning.

@robbie2499 yeah it's hard for me to take sleeping pills with three kids in the house the last time I took one my partner was seconds away from calling 911 because he couldn't wake me up.

@Cigarguy Now that is scary when they knock you out that hard. Taking half dose should work well for you, I hope so anyway.

@robbie2499 me too I take other pills to help me sleep but most nights I fall asleep then wake up 45 minutes later and I can't go back to sleep

@Cigarguy That's worse than not being able to sleep at all. I take my sleep meds routinely now whether I think I'll need them or not.

@robbie2499 I've struggled with insomnia my whole life. But this is the worst it's been for a long time. It's hard functioning on 45 minutes of sleep day after day.

@Cigarguy Have you tried relaxation sounds? Such as rain etc. I found them helpful at one point. I never suffered insomnia until I got sick (multiple sclerosis). It messes with the signals to my brain and when to sleep is one of them. I once was up for 48 hours, and I don't recommend it as I started hallucinating visually and hearing wise.

@robbie2499 yes it helps some but my OCD gets really bad at night and I just keep thinking I need to do this or that and I can't lay still any longer. I have to get up and move around
