That happens to me occasionally. I take sleeping pills and still am up for hours

Off and on, the perils of a past using cocaine...

Trying to sleep and then worrying about it really isn't conductive to feeling comfortable. Sometimes the temperature of the room helps (not too hot, not too cold) and sometimes people sleep better after a bath/shower (again, something to do with heat and comfort).

Sometimes reading a book/occupying your mind on something other than sleep helps.

Hope things get better.

I can't sleep when there's someone snoring in the room and I don't have earphones with music playing. I go berserk and simply can't. I probably would have to be exhausted to the point of semi-coma.

Yes. It sucks

If it continues call your doctor maybe, Insomnia sucks. Is something keeping your mind occupied or is it just seemingly random?
minxy · 46-50, F
I usually tough it out and stay awake the rest of the night, build up the sleepy and then I'll be able to sleep the next night.
Iwantout · 26-30, M
Yeah if something's really bothering me I won't sleep that night
If you cannot sleep after 20 minutes, get up and do something boring until you feel drowsy. I have worked shifts for years and sometimes my body just follows whatever course it wants to. So I go with it. I do not get anxious or upset. I try to sleep when I am sleepy and I am active when awake.

Too much caffeine late in the day or sugar can do it.
