I Can't Sleep

I sleep for a couple hours, then somehow, I wake up and am not able to sleep again. My head hurts because of this. I drink a lot of caffeinated drinks - which can sometimes put me to sleep at night but I drink it mainly to survive a day without falling asleep in class. I don't know what's wrong with me.

I know what is wrong with you, you need a good spanking for drinking all of that soda at night.

@evreno: yep

@Abbenblackwolf: Cool, I probably wouldn't do much sleeping though.

@evreno: well you will have to be in bed by 10 anyway

I suspect the only thing wrong is your lifestyle. See if these sleep hygiene items will help you, certainly giving up the caffeine should assist. http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2011/02/04/17-ways-to-improve-your-sleep-hygiene-tonight.aspx

After that, there might be a case for suspecting something wrong. Waking up in the night can be a sign of stress, depression or even allergies (such as to foods).

Thanks for that, I'll try to give me the caffeine. Hmm, I had a problem with depression now to long ago, I think I've gotten better. But, who knows, that could be it.

You may go through withdrawals if you give cafine up suddenly. That may result in headaches, possibly some other things too - nothing too major, just be aware. If you've eliminated sleep hygiene, and you are eating well and getting exercise, then it may be time to seek a GP.

@WhatShallIcallyou: I have had withdrawal many times, I'll be ready for it. Thank you for that, sir. Whatever happens, I'll let you know.

[c=#BF0080]That is insomnia. The doc can help you find the reason for your insomnia. They can test your blood. Getting help by using caffeine is another reason for some health problem. Caffeine is temporary immediate relief, it cannot help treat your problem. [/c]

Thank you, I might have to schedule an appointment with my doctor. Whenever I do, I guess I'll let you know what was said.

You should not drink any caffeine six hours prior to sleep time.
evreno · 22-25, M
I usually drink caffeinated drinks in the morning, never at night.
Hmmm maybe cut back idk
evreno · 22-25, M
Cut back on the caffeine?

You should go get a sleep study done.
