Aspercreme is really great when my knee occasionally bothers me...I prefer that to NSAIDs but Aleve works best if I'm really sore from overworking something...

I was using Ibuprofin but because it is an NSAID I switched to turmeric. It is a bit more expensive but doesn’t strain the heart.

Pain relieving muscle rub

15 drops of lavender essential oil
10 drops of black pepper
** 5 drops of wintergreen essential oil ** this oil contains methyl salicylate the active components of Aspirin, don't add this if you're on blood thinners.
30ml carrier oil, such as fractionated coconut or grape seed

Magnesium lotion, capsicum cream, arnica gel, stretching, massage, magnesium chloride baths. Recently used a paddle brush to work out a knot in my back

Voltaren if mild, Flector patches if it's something worse. Both are diclofenac-based.

Moist heat helps, but I don’t usually have the patience to stay still with it.
Massage and pain meds
