A little late with this comment but, to toss it out there, calf stretching multiples times a day needs to be on the table. A tennis ball under your foot, and moving it back and forth lengthwise, can help a ton too. If it doesn't go away they do make shoe inserts specifically for that. But it is something you can usually take care of on your own. I had it once on a long solo backpacking trip and it was a few days of a sufferfest. It can be a real owie. But once the pain goes away you do need to keep us with stretching your calves so it doesn't came back. Good luck.

Only thing that worked for me was seeing a podiatrist and getting an anti-inflamatory injection into the foot.

Good luck. It was a 7 month process to lessen it for me
