I have the same identical thing. I can share how I work with it if you like.

@CopperCicada please. Please. I'm crying so much.

@ScarletWitch This is from my experience, your mileage may vary…
1. Get healed. That will require taking some meds for a while. PPI’s (proton pump inhibitors) like Prilosec, Prevacid, Nexium. Your esophagus will heal. (If you have soft bones don’t use PPI’s. Use an H2 blocker like Pepcid. Don’t do Zantac, it was recalled.) Six weeks of so you’ll be healed up.
2. Don’t eat before bed. This is a hard one for me.
3. Raise the head of the bed.
4. Figure out what foods trigger lots of acid for you. For me it’s potato chips and coffee.
5. Exercise, eat whatever, to get your guts moving. Being all bloated just pushes everything up.
I’d 2-5 work out, then you can probably drop 1 and go to antacids like tums as needed.
Get used to your body and what it’s “tell” is for the GERD getting bar. For me it’s the bottom of my breastbone, the very tippy bit, getting tender. Then I know I’m getting bad.

@CopperCicada that's where it hurts the most. The breastbone. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

I have GERD also, though less severe. When I have symptoms they are almost always overnight. I take An acid blocker but one of the biggest lifestyle things I’ve done is trying not to eat or drink anything but water for 3 hours before bed.

Also… sleep propped up . Laying flat is no good

Oh no, can you do like a specific diet to manage it? 🥺
WaryWitchWandering · 36-40, F
My son had very severe reflux alongside a milk protein allergy from newborn to several months old. He would scream and cry all day long and violently puke his bottles sometimes. It was so upsetting to watch and no way to explain to him… or hear his side.
I’m very sorry you are suffering with this. There are acid blockers and all sorts of diet changes you can make to help ease or treat it

I am so sorry to hear this. Beautiful people like you don't deserve it. If you ever need a friend, I will be there to talk any time. No sense in crying alone

I do believe there are dietary ways to reduce the symptoms.
ScarletWitch · 31-35, F
@Docdon23 but I do eat good. I don't eat unhealthy stuff. I make sandwiches for a living. Healthy ones. And I still feel sicker.
Docdon23 · M
@ScarletWitch But there may be some healthy foods that are still not good for your condition. Find a nutritionist who knows their stuff. There also may be foods that relieve your symptoms. It is like me--I am a vegan, but you can be an unhealthy vegan if you eat sugar and chips all the time...I can do some research for you if you wish. Many doctors do NOT receive must education about nutrition.
ScarletWitch · 31-35, F
@Docdon23 how long have you been vegan?
