So sorry to hear this abd will.pray fir a meadure of comfort.
It's true, the loss is always there, the tender place in the heart, the empty.place that was filled with joy. But it does get better over time. The sharpness subsides. Pleasant memories gently push the sadness of loss aside. Cherish what you had, and be grateful for it, and try to embody his good qualities as a way to honor him.

heavy on the not wanting to lose the pain, i understand completely. my heart goes out to you ❤ i can't imagine how hard it is being so far from them now too. having to worry about complicated legalities while you're supposed to be grieving is terrible. i'm glad you're close to his mom
if you use reddit i think you should look at r/griefsupport. it helped me a lot when i lost my mama.

Sadly you are right most people find grief difficult to deal with and therefore will avoid talking to others about it whenever possible.
I cannot imagine what you are going through but you are right grief doesn't pass it just becomes a part of you and what matters is how you deal with it. We all have our own way.
