I hate it when people are overly focused on sexual things, because completely different stuff tends to be going on in my mind most of the time too. It's like you're living in different worlds. I'm so sorry that the dreams about your mother are often scary, I wish they could all be just you hanging out together. I had really bizarre dreams about my own mother who's still alive but in poor health, like her laying on my kitchen floor suffering (won't even go into details because it was too weird), which is strange because she's always been a very strong person in my life. Recently I had a dream that she died and after her death I started writing to her in my diary; my whole life became about that, so when I went out with friends I was just looking forward to coming home and telling her about it in the diary. The dream felt super long and was so real that I couldn't snap out of it for a while after waking up.

@Nightwings luckily most of dreams about her nowadays are positive. i totally get it though, the really real ones are so confusing to wake up from. sometimes there's so much happening in the dreams you really have to stop think about what just happened. i really do think dreams help us cope, process, and understand things in our life though

@Frostcloud I think so too, and I even noticed I sometimes feel better after weird or scary dreams, after I shake off the feeling from them. The nightmares you had about your mom were probably needed to process the loss in part. I'm glad most of them are good, but I'm sure all of them are natural and helpful in various ways.
