After you, the dog was probably all she had to care about. Then you were gone. Now the dog is gone. & She's alone now. It makes sense. But one thing I've I've learned is we have to learn to be alone. Hopefully she gets there

@ChiefJustWalks As someone else commented: as sad as it is, she has herself to blame for my leaving her. I think things between us could change easily if she just does something about her demons. That is easier said than done, I get it. I’ve been there. But, what more of a wake-up call does she need?

I think it's more than just Ulysses, though. Maybe she's seeing herself alone while you have put yourself in a place where you're going from strength to strength. A life leaving her behind type of thing. Though she was the one who put herself in that situation.
