Yes and yes but I also changed how I ate and that helped too

I just know that if you experience anxiety long-term or have a few days of stress, it's always good to supplement because stress depletes body of magnesium and low magnesium makes anxiety much worse and can lead do tetany. You can't go wrong with magnesium because if you take too much the only side effect is diarrhea and that way you know you shouldn't take it anymore.
But I don't think that solely magnesium can rid you of anxiety altogether. Only if you feel jumpy, strangely alert, dizzy and lightheaded for no apparent reason and the cause is low magnesium.
I've struggled with anxiety/increased stress in new situations my whole life and to this day I just don't know the mechanism of it. It must be something complex involving diet, the amount of physical activity, one's muscle tone, sleep, how metabolism works, how neuromuscular system works, the psychology itself and who knows what all. I try to make up for it with magnesium, vitamin D, B-complex, especially B12 and zinc when I feel like some of these are needed. Magnesium is something I take when I notice I get frequently dizzy, lightheaded or feel inner tremor (with or without anxiety) and it usually helps. If not even magnesium works, I take B-complex.

@CrazyMusicLover I don’t know but anxiety and stress can exhibit itself in those symptoms you mentioned. You have to find ways to manage and control regardless of the vitamin supplements. 🤗

@Iknowyourouttheresomewhere Yes but when they are already present, it means it's too late and you need to supplement. What I wanted to say is that magnesium can only treat anxiety directly caused by the lack of it. But in many cases, it's anxiety that causes the lack of magnesium in the first place, therefore magnesium is just an aid to treat a problem that has some different cause. Like it's with many products for health issues that "manage the symptoms" instead of getting rid of them. Everyone who has had acne in past must be familiar with it. "Helps managing acne"...Yeah, no, thanks, I want to get rid of it not to manage it, lol.
@CrazyMusicLover I know certain medications can interfere or deplete you of magnesium.
Kudos to Europe for adding magnesium to bottled water 🙌

I take Glycine and GABA for anxiety, magnesium for sleep.

@Zaphod42 I'm not sure what gaba is.
I do not want to take any medications that cross the blood brain barrier
I've tried them before and it wasn't good results.

Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
@meJess oh, well I did plan on buying it 😄
meJess · F
@Justmeraeagain it has a reputation as a hot product
TheLadyPotato · 36-40, F
Don’t think it would be so effective if the anxiety is high or severe. That would need some type of SSRI..
But if it is mild.. yes possibly good be helpful for relaxation and sleep..

@TheLadyPotato well it is probably not mild but I won't take anything that crosses the blood-brain barrier because I've had horrible results with those types of medication
