Lonely and anxious

I will manage. It’s a little harder lately as things are changing quite a bit in my life.
The divorce, losing a bit of support, trying to make new friends, packing for my move, tackling clutter, training for new job, And sending my youngest to college this weekend. I will be ok.

I need to use my better coping skills instead of silly distractions like meeting w people And making friends. But I just wished I had something to look forward to so I arranged a birthday dinner for myself with new people. However it’s causing some anxiety. Distracting me from my more serious issues.

Divorced at your age!? 😟

I thought people got married so they would have a support system at old age...

@Unlearn yes very inconvenient timing. I was getting used to the idea of coasting.

@Stuffy I hope your kids are standing with you...

@Unlearn It's what we hope for, but some people don't want to be there for you in sickness, only in health. I lost my support in my 50s, mostly due to health issues, and realize that for the same reason, I'll probably always be alone.

@Unlearn yes, my older boys are my rock they’re supporting me

@SW-User I’m sorry. I’m so grateful for m my sons. Do you have any family?

@Stuffy I have an elderly aunt and uncle who live in another state. They've been supportive. The uncle, plus 2 of his friends, have done a LOT to help me with moving things out of my deceased parents' house over the past 2 years. I'm grateful to have them.
