Thoughts on Lorazepam?

I've taken Lorazepam and it worked for me OK.

I've taken Lorazepam and I hated it.

I've taken Lorazepam. Not a big fan but I'll take it if I needed

I have no idea what Lorazepam is but I like clicking stuff

Considering if I should take Lorazepam for my anxiety. I've never taken any anti-anxiety medication but maybe I should... Have you taken it, and if so, what was your experience? Did it work for you? Did you become addicted to it? Any side effects?

Benzos should only be used for acute attacks. They shouldn't be taken chronicly as that increases the chance they will become addictive and they also lose effectiveness over time with regular use. If you are having chronic anxiety it's better to get an antidepressant which works more long term for controlling anxiety.

Yes i have and still do if i need. Have been taking it for so long never had any negativd side affect. It does what it suppose to do. No never got addicted to it. If ive been drinking alcohol , like lately i dont take it

I am shocked anyone would start you on lorazepam without trying less addictive and dangerous drugs. Are you on any other medication?

Ativan is great for short term anxiety. SHORT term.

@Doomflower Great answer,took much of the wind out of mine.
I seem to recall a side effect of it enhancing other meds,like nearly doubling the dose.

Try an SSRI. Benzos are addictive. If it works, you you need more and more and more.

@Doomflower Yep. I took them for years. Getting off of them is very, very difficult.
