I Have Anxiety

Panic and anxiety disorders are very real and can be very intense. I've been battling Generalized Anxiety Disorder comorbid with Panic Disorder with bouts of Agoraphobia. I also have Major Depressive Disorder. It is not at all uncommon for anxiety and depression to go hand in hand. I've controlled it fairly well with medication for years. I'm going to therapy to help make the lifestyle changes to further improve my situation.

I'd like to improve on techniques such as deep breathing and meditation. Exercising the mind, just as important as the body and soul. Best of luck to anyone else dealing with an anxiety disorder!

i stopped drinking cola and wow it made a huge difference!!! If you drink caffeine, ditch it.

@NiftyWhite Thanks for the tip! I am a coffee drinker, though I find myself only having one cup in the mornings anymore. I was also a smoker and recently quit for the same reason. These stimulant vices can help feed the anxiety monster!

yeah my heart rate was off the charts i couldn’t sleep and panicked all day. the very first day i didn’t drink any cola i noticed a big difference @StrayTom

@NiftyWhite I'm glad to hear it made a huge difference for you! I just spent the evening learning some new songs on the guitar, something else I find relaxing. Learning to play an instrument. It slows down the body and the mind's internal tempo and gives you something else to focus on...

@SW-User That's interesting to hear about grapefruit juice. I have to avoid it because of the medications I take, it can interfere with them. Sucks because I really love the stuff!
